Hebrew for "Hand in Hand"
Our engaging Yad b' Yad parent participation program is a cornerstone for new and returning families. Developed and led by Yad b' Yad Program Director Shuly Paret, this class provides a safe, warm, loving and welcoming environment—a second home for children and parents/caregivers.
Yad b' Yad integrates age-appropriate early childhood concepts including constructivist/Reggio Emilia-inspired practices, play-based learning and an appreciation for nature with the use of natural, open-ended materials. With their parent or caregiver by their side, children learn to play both cooperatively and independently.
All activities encourage positive interactions between parents and children and stimulating discussions between adults. Each day brings a balance of structured and unstructured fun and learning. The program is designed to encourage friendships and build community rooted in Jewish values.
- Discussions of relevant parenting issues led by parenting professionals
- Celebrations of Jewish holidays and Shabbat geared to young children
- Music and movement
- Art and indoor/outdoor play
When your child turns 18 months old, you may choose to keep them in Yad B' Yad or have them join our Toddler Program for children 18–23 months (if space is available).
